The games themselves are very entertaining with cute and funny characters, entertaining music, and amusing sound effects. The games are simple to understand, yet difficult to master, and may frustrate very young players because they are so challenging. With enough medals you can buy your way into the restricted access areas. To gain access to bonus material the player will be required to earn a Superb rating, where a medal is collected. If they pass they will receive an OK and will gain access to a new mini-game there are fifty in total.
If the player does not do well enough they will be asked to Try Again. Fortunately, controlling the rhythm with the Wii controller is easy, as you only have to push one button, in some cases two at the same time. Often in each game the rhythm will change, so it is not so easy. This is where the player can learn the object of the game and practice the rhythm. In each mini-game the player has the ability to practice before actual game play begins. Rhythm Heaven Fever is obviously all about keeping the rhythm.
